Car gadget holder

I purchased this to hold my tiny iRiver MP3 player, iPod, or cell phone. I wasn't sure how well it would work so I gambled & ordered it. I received the package in only a few days from the vendor using the standard shipping and was very pleased. The flex shaft/mount/head are built SOLID and look professional. The gripper/holder is well, blah plastic.

The gripper/holder does in fact grip tightly and held all my electronics nicely and allowed buttons on the side to be accessed. My package did come w/screws to attach the gripper to the shaft head so I did not have to worry about this like a previous reviewer.

The flex shaft is extremely sturdy and will not bend/wiggle unless intended to. As far as mounting was concerned, the Amazon product picture wasn't very clear so I didn't understand how it mounted to the vehicle until I got the device in hand. The product does require you to purchase three #10 5/8" screws for mounting. They should have included these for completeness. Using an electric screwdriver, I easily attached the unit to the side of my vehicles (Murano) plastic console. The body metal just below the console is too flimsy for mounting so I had no other option than to mount directly to the plastic console. I thought my console was sturdy, but it now vibrates a little given the weight of the heavy flex shaft and electronics when the vehicle is moving. One advantage to mounting to the console or nearby (instead of a window mount kit) is that it is easy to hide any wires going to the electronics).

Overall, I love having my electronics mounted so they no longer fly around the car during turns.
